Catholic Apologetics

To explain why the "three Popes" objection to Catholicism is flawed and proves nothing.

Many claim that Augustine was a Protestant -- but he was Catholic.

Many Protestants claim that the New Covenant is different from the Old Covenant in every way. Dispensationalists even go so far as to claim that the means of salvation is different under these two covenants. The Church as the New Covenant is really phase two of God's first covenant in which He called out a holy nation. The Catholic Church has many similarities to the Old Testament nation of Israel.

The title of this article is borrowed from the phrase "Bad Popes." It is common for Protestants who are critical of Catholicism to list various types of bad behavior by Catholics to discredit the claims of the Catholic Church.

This article demonstrates that the Bible has many passages that can only be adequately explained by the Catholic Church.

Many Protestant denominations are founded on Calvinism. In this article I highlight Biblical passages which clearly contradict one or more of these five points of Calvinism.

Protestants must accept the notion that the church "went bad" and that God used the Protestant Reformers to "fix" it. These claims are simply false.

Protestants who believe in Sola Scriptura (scripture only) typically deny that their doctrines have developed. Rather, they claim that they get their doctrines from the Bible. I highlight issues that are typically ignored by Protestants.

People tend to see things through the lens of their own perspective and sometimes have difficulty seeing things from other perspectives. This is common when Protestants, who have been indoctrinated into an anti-Catholic perspective, are unable to understand the Catholic view of things. The purpose of this article is to assist Protestants with seeing the Catholic perspective by presenting unexpected dialogs.

Martin Luther, the first Protestant "Reformer," invented the doctrine of Sola Fide (faith alone). But there are a few obvious problems with this doctrine.

Martin Luther based the Protestant doctrine of Sola Fide (faith alone) on the book of Romans -- but he ignored many passages.

Protestants who are critical of Catholicism typically do not address the topic of Galileo Galilei in a factual manner and do not consider the various issues that are involved.

This article discusses the doctrine of Inerrancy in the context of the debate between Protestants and Catholics.

This article shows the problems and inconsistencies of Martin Luther's teachings using quotes from his own writings.

This article discusses the various doctrines of the Catholic Church regarding Mary, the mother of Jesus.

This article references the many significant passages about Mary in the Bible relating to the particular Catholic Marian doctrines.

This article explains the Catholic doctrines regarding Mary, which are much misunderstood and misrepresented by Protestants who are critical of Catholicism.

Protestants who are critical of Catholicism typically misrepresent the teachings and doctrines of the Catholic Church.

This article demonstrates that the Protestant doctrine of Sola Scriptura (scripture only) is unsound and unbiblical.

Sola Scriptura is the foundation of Protestant teaching. But upon careful reflection it is easy to see that there are inconsistencies and contradictions.

To clarify the teachings of the Catholic Church. There is a great deal of misinformation among Protestants who are critical of Catholicism.

He had many erroneous ideas about the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Protestant belief -- (1) It has many unbiblical teachings, and (2) it has an authority outside of the Bible.

This article describes a few common objections to the claims of the Catholic church by Protestants who are critical of Catholicism; in particular, the alleged abuses of the church toward the Waldenses and the Albigensians.

Summary of Topics

Statement of Faith I am a devout, orthodox, faithful Catholic. I accept as trustworthy and true without reservation the teachings of the magisterium of the Catholic Church.

I was a Protestant Fundamentalist but converted to Catholicism on March 25, 2002.
Be An Activist! Opponents of Moral Truth are effectively transforming our culture for the worse. Odd, considering there are more of us (the "good" guys) then them (the "bad" guys). We need to be activists!

This article provides a simple plan for how to get "activated!"
Biblical Archaeology In talking with people about the historical reliability of the Bible the subject of archaeology often comes up (as it should).

I highlight David M. Rohl, a non-Christian archaeologist who has demonstrated from the archaeological evidence that the Bible is reliable as a historical document.
Audio Two talks about my conversion from Fundamental Protestantism to Catholicism.
I Love the Bible This collection of articles contains my reflections on various Bible passages categorized by topic.
Catholic Apologetics Articles on various topics for Protestants who are critical of Catholicism. I have attempted to be kind and uncondemning in my attitude but I am not shy about confronting the issues.

I converted from Fundamental Protestantism to Catholicism because I noticed that Protestant teaching is seriously flawed. Many of these articles trace the journey as I wrestled with these big issues.

Catholic Foundations

Protestant / Catholic Comparisons

Christian Apologetics Articles on various topics for non-Christians who are interested in checking out the truth-claims of Christianity.
Christian Musings As an armchair theologian, I pondered and considered and came up with some amazingly significant ideas; or at least they interested me enough to write them down. But I wouldn't take these articles too seriously since the ideas are not endorsed by the Teaching Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
